In a nation grappling with one of the highest poverty rates, the gift of a home in Guatemala is entirely life changing. Most homes in the villages are small, cramped 10 x 10 corrugated tin structures, often housing several families. Many families are forced to live in homes constructed from corn stalks with dirt floors. Despite hard working young men making every effort to support their families, limited access to education and significant economic disparities make it impossible for most families to even afford a home.
At Soul139, our mission is to transform the lives of impoverished Guatemalan families by providing them with a safe, secure place to call home. We partner with local organizations to identify families in dire need of these houses. Witnessing the joy on the faces of families as they receive a new home is a truly heartwarming sight, beyond words.
You have the power to make a lasting impact. Building a home in a village can cost anywhere from $900 to $3500, depending on the materials used. A one-room corrugated home can be constructed for approximately $900, while a two-room option costs around $1500. For $2500, we can build a two-room block home, and $3500 allows us to create a two-room wooden home.
Your support has the power to create a profound impact. When you contribute to Soul139, you become an integral part of our mission, directly transforming the lives of those in need. While we may not be able to change the entire world,
your generosity can certainly change someone's world.
